Hi Stan
Do not be surprised, if there is an interesting topic, discussions will come alive again! It also helped a lot that you heeded my warning and again allowed guest access here without registration. The same limitation was one of the serious mistakes that buried the forum on LVD...
I think a little advertising would help to attract new, young RTR fans, I mean promoting RTR and putting links in comments on other social networks, e.g. Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, of course preferably in discussions about railway topics, model making, railway simulators and the like. Anyone who uses similar social networks can place the link there...
And last but not least, it would be a great boost for RTR and its community if it was possible to successfully complete the compilation of the old RTR to a new, modern version (probably already compatible with the 64-bit Windows operating system). Dinotick tried to do this, but probably overestimated his abilities and powers - no wonder, he worked on it himself. If it was possible to attract a competent programmer and at the same time a railway enthusiast, who would help Dinotick in this (for free), RTR would certainly save it. It should be noted that RTR, even though it is a very old game, is unique despite the flood of super modern railway simulators, because RTR is not a railway simulator, but a model railway simulator, and that is the difference! If I'm not mistaken, there are only two games of this kind in the world, RTR and the more modern 3D Train Studio, which is still based on the original RTR code (please correct me if I'm wrong)...
