I did indeed, and I'm looking at the file you sent (or at least I will do once I've finished the installation of my new PC, so tomorrow...). Meanwhile, if you're stuck for email, maybe open a new one on gmail.com..? Just a thought.

Tonto... Here's your animation file attached...), corrected so as not to skip. I didn't understand why you'd started the keyframes at '-85', so I edited them all to increment from 0 to 360 in 6° steps 'so '0', then '6', then '12' etc. Sometimes, for its own reasons, FM makes the steps negative (I think it counts down to '0' at the mid-point, but didn't bother confirming that...), so the last frames do this. There's then a little 'trick', as it seems the FM is not all that bright. The last frame ('9000'...) should really be the same as the first, but in that case, FM winds backwards to start the loop again, and it jerks. I cheat; I make the last from just slightly less than the '0' it should be (so '-0.0001'...), just so that FM is tricked into continuing smoothly. I've adjusted the frame rate, of course, from '20' to 2000', so that we see the animation better. This has to be set back to '20' before creating an 'x' file, as RTR will want all of those frames, at a slow speed for us, but the right speed for it. Hope this helps; let me know if there are issues, please..? Meanwhile... Have a great day Douglas douglas for testing corrected.ugh (163.44 KB)

Hi Douglas WE HAVE LIFT OFF. The method of exporting a FM animated model as a MS3D file then importing that same MS3D file back into FM then exporting the file as an x file "WORKS" no more RTR crashes, I have made a model with 6 wheels placed all the bones in there positions and made a keyframe from 1 to 9000. I am going to leave it there for now, (my head is pounding at the moment) I need to know how to set up the keyframe using the keyframe editor before I proceed any further.
I have been to see paladin Jnr this morning and he has said that I can use his email address for the foreseeable future
Kindest Regards tonto

Tonto... Sounds good..! I've working animated wheelsets, some with coupling rods, waiting to be able to pop into rtr without crashing. Once your head is better (Fragmotion, eh..!) and connection established, you'll be able to try them out, maybe. Be warned that the keyframe editor is a bit of a pig to work with (it works, but the programmers have never heard the word 'ergonomy'...). Progress; well done.

Hi Douglas More victories I have made a 6 wheeled model, then added the bones just to the centre wheels, assigned vertex to bone, made a key frame of 360, with spacing every 45 frames then using the keyframe editor starting at frame 1' I set this frame at 0 then increased every 45 frames by the same amount until I got to frame 180 which I set at -180 in the key frame editor and so on diminishing every 45 frames until I reached frame 360 which I set at 0 And lo and behold I have my centre set of wheels rotating 360 with no jump at the end, absolutely marvelous. I am now going to plod on over the weekend and get the other 2 sets of wheels rotating the same as the centre
Best Regards from a very happy bunny tonto

Morning Douglas We are going to have to go back to the drawing board with RTR. I put my new model into RTR and it crashed. so we are going have to try something else. I have noticed that most of the animated RTR models have a large key frame , so I am going to increase the key frame size to 9000 and see what happens
I will keep you up to date on my findings
Best regards tonto
