This is a really nice model but there are a few problems with the release package. I don't say this as a criticism but it will be a good learning point.
The first problem is that Rae tells us that it is recolorable but that doesn't work. Getting a model to be recolorable is as easy to do as it is to mess up. Most of the time, the problem is the same as with this model; pathnames. Here are the four lines in the XLI file for the recoloring:
Scenes\rae\Oclumu.dds
Scenes\rae\R003_D.dds
0xffffd6
0xffeef5ac
Scenes\rae\R003_D.dds
0xffffd6
0xffeef5ac
and here are the relevant lines from the X file
TextureFilename { "c:\\rtr\\scenes\\rae\\Oclumu.dds"
TextureFilename { "c:\\rtr\\scenes\\rae\\R003_D.dds"
TextureFilename { "c:\\rtr\\scenes\\rae\\R003_D.dds"
Both sets of lines are formatted correctly but they don't match. To make it work, all the words MUST be the same (the // don't have to match). In this case the lowercase 's' in '\\scenes\\' does not match the uppercase 'S' in the actual path and in the XLI file. Fix that in the X file and the recoloring should work. This change will not require re-validating the XLI since the length of the file is unchanged.
The second problem is that there are two .dds files missing. The XLI Checker shows that the files 'headlite011.dds' and 'headlite012.dds' are missing. This results in the model having plain white headlights. There is a file with the model named 'headlite01.dds' but it is a texture not called for by the X file. The simplest fix is to make 2 copies of the 'headlite01.dds' file and rename them to the missing filenames.
Lastly, and this isn't a problem, to have the front and rear lights illuminate at night, you could add the following lines to any ltex file:
headlite011.dds
headlite012.dds
tlred.dds
indorange.dds
Again, this is a nice model and I intend to use it. This posting is not intended to be a criticism of Rae or her abilities in modelmaking. It is intended to be an instructional guidance on how to fix some things that go wrong.
