One of the things that go wrong with RtR! is inconsistencies in the XLI files and the other supporting files. For this reason I wrote the XLI Checker application that would read the configuration files and let you examine what is configured and where there may be problems. Installation is simple; just extract the folder in the archive and put it someplace on your desktop or in a folder you have access to. Then create a link to the .exe file and put that with your RtR! files.
The program does not make any changes to any of the files used in RtR!

I wanted to give a quick update on the XLI Checker status. With Windows 11 coming out and requiring a 64-bit architecture, I have to wonder how many of you are still using 32-bit machines. Currently, the XLI Checker is a 32-bit application but I have been considering building a 64-bit version. The problem there is that version 5.2 would be the last version that would run on a 32-bit machine. A 64-bit version would also require a 64-bit machine and Windows 10 or later (although it MIGHT still work on 64-bit versions of Windows 8).
The program isn't really that complex internally so a 64-bit version would likely not give significant performance improvement.
I would be interested in your opinions and whether you run RtR! on 32-bit systems. If the majority are on 32-bit, there is really no good reason to do a 64-bit version.
I'm not saying I WILL do a 64-bit version of the XLI Checker but...

I think most of us use a 32-bit system... The problem is that when Microsoft stops supporting 32-bit applications, the good old RTR will no longer run on the 64-bit architecture - when everyone upgrades to Windows 11 and higher (in the future), all good old games will be dead (unless someone creates an emulator )...!

Thanks Leon D Yeah, I know. The XLI Checker is in the .rar file included in the archive. The rest are a couple of layouts and documents that I have been asked for repeatedly in the past.
